Website

Moving from an existing website

Keep important old links and business email working while you switch.

Before you start

  • A list of your current site's important pages
  • Domain ownership, and Studio or Private Office to keep serving your own domain

Steps

  1. Inventory current pages, inquiry channels, and contact links.
  2. Map each important old URL to a new page, project, service, or area in the migration map.
  3. Verify mail delivery for your domain independently; publication never changes mail records.
  4. Test the new inquiry path with a controlled test inquiry.
  5. Switch the domain to primary; keep the old site reachable until the release checks pass.
  6. Watch the daily 404 report for 30 days and add mappings as needed.

Expected result

Old links resolve, email works, and the new inquiry path is verified. Search ranking is monitored, not guaranteed.

If something goes wrong

Roll back by pointing the domain at the previous destination; the map stays saved.
